disease

It’s no Joke getting sick these days. Filipinos live today in a fast-paced, technology-driven world that almost everything and everyone is in a rush.  People have to work on the double just to keep up with the needs to survive. If one gets sick, the consequences today are unimaginable.

A simple fever, cold, or headache will already cost you money, not just because of the medicines, but also because you won’t be able to go to work. What more if you get down with flu, cholera, or worse, a heart attack?

Medicines are definitely not cheap. If you get hospitalized, you’ll be paying a lot more fees that you won’t even understand what they are for. Consultations with medical professionals are not free either; if you want a free consult, you’ll have to endure the long queue. Either way, you still suffer some damage, whether physically, mentally, or financially.

Experts will often tell you that “prevention is better than cure”.  What people do, though is to get endless vaccines, take vitamin this and vitamin that, and still go back to an unhealthy lifestyle.

Why spend a lot of money on prophylactic measures like these when you can prevent disease and infirmity through more natural, and cost-efficient ways?

Everyday we encounter a lot of unhealthy foods and drinks that we intake in our body. There’s the instant noodles, the canned goods, soft drinks, and many others that we resort to because they are easy to prepare and it fits our rapid timetable. After a period of time, one gets sick and questions the cause of such illness. If one is to look over the daily eating habits and food choices, then the answer is no big mystery.

If you’re suddenly having chest pains, get tired easily, suffers from headaches every now and then, and experiences other bodily complaints, chances are you lead an unhealthy lifestyle.

exercise

Exercise

Have you ever tried exercise? The human body needs exercise. You need not go to a gym,if you can’t afford it. You can simply jog in the morning, do routine push-ups and sit ups, and get into the habit of walking.

What about food? Have you tried going into a salad diet? How about a fruit diet? This is not to say to go vegan overnight. Every once in a while, it wouldn’t hurt to have some nutritious foods that actually nourishes the body without leaving harmful elements. Who knows, you might even like the vegan habit!

veggies

If you like to cook, you might want to try including veggies in your dishes. Find ways to lessen the cholesterol, salt and sugar content so the foods you cook will be closer to being    healthy, but still tasty.

You need your body to function properly in order for you to do things you need to do. You can start today by having some greens in your meal. You’ll see the long-term effects once you try to follow the healthy path to life.

Health is a human attribute that we have to nourish. It is not self-sustaining nor given to us free. Maintaining health comes at a price, but a considerable one that we can and must afford in order to shield it from diseases and untoward incidents.

In order to stay healthy, one must have the mindset to be healthy; there should be no distractions.  Health must always be top priority, and one should have the right attitude to pursue the healthy way.

To achieve optimum health, there ought to be the presence of the single most important concept in healthy living: discipline.
